Adding content, by far, is the most important factor for traffic building on your site. Just make sure it is original content. If you find an article that is excellent and you want to incorporate it, re-write it first.

As to a cars theme, hunt around on wordpress.org site. The design for this site was with the thesis theme plug manipulation I had done to customize it to wordpress.
